I have been in the business a long time I was told 25 years ago we will no longer have keys everything’s going to be you know remote or chips in our skin and numbers and everything and we are seeing more and more of the electronic locks keyless locks so but what I am finding now is a lot of the electronic locks are not as they they are not as secure as a good deadbolt with a key a proper deadbolt with a proper key when you get into high security situations or situations where you want to keep people out your best thing is still a deadbolt with a key you know like the Medico High Security, Abloy High Security Locks, etc.
High Security Locks
There is lots of UL Listed (Underwriters laboratory) graded as pick resistant, heavy duty locks that can withstand break-ins. Are keys obsolete, no I don’t see keys obsolete for in the near future at all. However, I am seeing more and more keyless locks electronic locks and there are some good ones out there.
Keyless Locks
For the same money as electronic lock you put that money into a good heavy duty high security deadbolt. The deadbolt is more secure.

Car Keys
Car keys are most certainly going to go away, however, you still need an emergency key to open the door when the battery in the car or remote is dead 🙂
