Today, I’m excited to share a test that could be a real game-changer for mobile locksmiths: putting the **Bluetti EB3A Portable Power Station** to the test with one of our key cutting machines. Many of you ask about reliable power solutions on the go, and I think I’ve found a fantastic option.
I picked up this Bluetti EB3A online for $219 U.S. I’ve been using it quite a bit for charging my phones and general testing, but this was the first time trying it with a high-draw piece of equipment like a key machine. The big question was: **would it handle the surge of power needed to cut a key without stalling?**
The Test: Powering Up the Key Machine
We hooked up the key machine to the Bluetti EB3A. The machine powered on instantly, no hesitation. The real test, however, is when the cutting begins, as that’s when the power draw truly spikes.
Impressive Results: Smooth Cutting, Minimal Drain
I monitored the Bluetti’s performance using its app. It started at 35% power, and as we engaged the key machine to cut one side of a key, it showed a power usage of about 95 watts.
The results were incredibly impressive! There was **no stalling, no hesitation, nothing**. The key machine ran smoothly, cutting the key with ease. After cutting one side of the key, the Bluetti’s power only dropped by **3%**. This means to cut both sides of a key, we’re looking at roughly a 6% power drain.
This is unbelievable for such a compact unit! The Bluetti EB3A is a 268-watt portable power station, but it boasts a surge capability of up to 500 watts, which clearly helped it handle the key machine’s demands effortlessly.
